Sero worked with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) for a period of six years to set up the Digital media and ICT Vendor Alliance (DIVA) Programme. This was designed to expand and enrich digital media and ICT qualifications in Scotland, in particular the Higher National qualifications, by fostering collaboration with global industry partners. The aim was to give Scottish learners access within mainstream curriculum to industry-led vocational qualifications aligned to the needs of the workplace, in order to support employability. By February 2007, 13 global industry vendors had been selected including:
- Cisco Systems
Through the programme, vendor courseware was made available to schools, colleges and universities and vendor awards were mapped onto the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and positioned inside relevant national awards, helping to make the most of links between national awards and industry standards.
The DIVA programme won international awards for its groundbreaking activities.
