A team from Sero researched and developed the Digital Teaching Professional Framework for the Education and Training Foundation (ETF), the government-backed, sector-owned workforce development body for the Further Education (FE) and Training Sector.
The Digital Teaching Professional Framework is the ETF’s national EdTech competency framework to provide a set of professional standards for technology-enhanced learning and a common understanding of digital skills development. The framework is based around seven elements and sets out a progression path through three stages of development: Exploring, Adopting and Leading in use of technology.
The team that developed the framework included our associates Seb Schmoller, Maren Deepwell and Emma Procter-Legg. The project involved desk research into related developments both in the UK and internationally, setting up a representative consultation group, wider consultation and testing with a survey and focus groups, as well as the conceptual design and development of the framework in collaboration with the ETF.
The framework was launched in November 2018. Further details can be found on the ETF’s website and an interactive version linking to related training can be found on the ETF’s Enhance Digital Teaching Platform.
